Stabilization of an Actively Mode-Locked Erbium-Doped Fiber Ring Laser by Multi-Harmonic Phase Modulation

Abstract

We demonstrate actively mode-locked operation of a fiber laser using a novel multiharmonic phase modulation technique. By mixing two harmonics of the fundamental cavity frequency to drive a phase modulator, improved stability performance is observed.
