Abstract

We propose a high-power and low-noise laser for effective first- and higher-order co-pumping in distributed Raman amplifiers. Experiments at 10 Gb/s, also confirmed by simulations, point out RIN-penalty free transmission up to 25 dB of co-propagating ON-OFF Raman gain.
