Reducing the Backreflection Impact by Using Gain-Saturated SOA in WDM Single-fiber Loopback Access Networks

Abstract

This paper reduces the impact of backreflection in WDM single-fiber loopback access networks by using a gain-saturated SOA. We presented the concept and experimentally confirmed that the gain-saturated SOA significantly improves the SNR of upstream signal.
