Abstract

We demonstrate a technique for eliminating nonlinear-pattern-dependence in SOA-based differential-mode wavelength-converters using optically-induced polarization rotation. Power penalty improvement of 2.6dB for 231-1 PRBS data is achieved by compensating for 3.3 dB pattern dependence.
