Optimizing Operating Conditions to Reduce Data Pattern Dependence Induced by Slow Light Elements

Abstract

We analyze pattern dependence induced by slow light and define figure of merit involving pulse delay and data degradation to optimize slow-light elements. The pattern dependence can be reduced, with up to 5dB Q improvement, by detuning slow-light devices.
