Cost-Effective Fiber-to-the-Home System Using Remote Repeater

Abstract

We report a FTTH system using a remote repeater that reduces customer’s transmitter costs, and extends feeder reach to 60 km and split ratio to 1:256. The system employs standard PON transceivers and demonstrates good performance.
