Investigation of the spectrogram technique for the characterization of picosecond optical pulses

Abstract

The accuracy of an implementation of the spectrogram technique based on an electroabsorption modulator providing a 30 ps gate is investigated. Picosecond pulses are accurately characterized with high dynamic range and high sensitivity.
