Progress on fiber poling and devices

Abstract

One can induce second-order nonlinearity in fibers through poling. Electrooptical modulation, switching and wavelength conversion can thus be achieved. We describe accomplishments of the EU project GLAMOROUS in creating low-cost high performance electrooptic fiber components.
