Abstract

We propose and demonstrate an all-optical regenerator based on the wavelength shift induced by cross-phase modulation in a highly-nonlinear fiber. Regeneration of a 10-Gb/s signal using the proposed scheme improves the Q-factor by 1.8 dB.
