Abstract

We investigate the nonlinear penalty of ultra-low-slope NZ-DSF with less than 50-um2 effective area in non-dispersion-compensated systems. For 80- and 155-km, 10-Gb/s transmission, negligible nonlinear penalty was found for launch powers up to 0 dBm/ch.
