Fast PMD and PDL Measurement of Aerial Fiber

Abstract

The fastest sampling of PMD of an aerial fiber is presented. Aerial fiber PDL is studied for this first time. PMD and PDL is shown to be loosely correlated. PMD is shown to change at a rate < 800 μs.
