Low-cost Coolerless 10Gb/s Integrated Laser-Modulator

Abstract

For short and medium reach network applications, we propose a low-cost and high performance integrated laser-electroabsorption modulator source. We demonstrate coolerless and isolator-free 10Gb/s transmission over 25km, for temperature ranging from 10 to 80°C.
