Effect of grating imperfections on devices based on tilted fiber gratings

Abstract

Cross-sectional and longitudinal defects in tilted fiber gratings are studied, and their influence on grating devices is discussed. Fiber gratings with various imperfections are fabricated; their scattering patterns are measured and compared to simulation results.
