Abstract

Actively mode-locked fiber laser, which employs polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber (PM-PCF) with high nonlinearity and dispersion for intracavity nonlinear pulse compression is shown. The laser produced 1.26-ps pulses at 10-GHz-rate using PM-PCF of only 10-m-long.
