Optical bistability and picosecond optical switching in bisbenzocyclobutene (BCB) polymer microring resonators

Abstract

We demonstrate optical bistability and all-optical switching in BCB polymer microring resonators. A Δλ=2 pm on- and off-switching response in frequency domain was achieved. With pumping by a pulsed laser, picosecond all-optical switching was demonstrated.
