Raman crosstalk in video overlay passive optical networks

Abstract

This work studies the Raman coupling effect in ITU-T G.983.3-based PON systems carrying sub-carrier modulated analog video. We find the Raman effect is present but is controllable to negligible levels, provided that system parameters are optimised.
