Abstract

We model the gain variation due to the signal allocation change in multi-channel EDFA amplification by introducing the effect of spectral hole burning (SHB). Our numerical model, describing the behavior of both positive and negative gain variation near to 1530 nm, gives good results in agreement with the measure results.
