Scattering Loss for Discrimination against High-Order Modes in High Power Single Lateral Mode Lasers

Abstract

We demonstrate a new concept for stabilizing the lateral mode in narrow stripe diode lasers that enables the laser to be driven to twice the current density of conventional lasers of similar design without beam instability.
