Abstract

A cascade of electro-optically controlled filters in periodically-poled LiNbO3 is used for dynamic gain equalization in DWDM systems. A dynamic gain equalizer with 3.2 dB insertion loss and <0.2 dB BER penalty was experimentally demonstrated.
