Theory, Simulation, and Measurements for New Model of Spectral Hole Burning in EDFA

Abstract

A new model of spectral hole burning effect in EDFA is suggested. Experiments were conducted to identify the hole burning mechanism. The shape and the depth of the spectral hole are in accordance with the suggested approach.
