Abstract

We have numerically and experimentally studied the benefit of asymmetrically filtered 40Gbit/s CS-RZ signals. We also evaluated their tolerance to chromatic dispersion, fiber nonlinearity and polarization mode dispersion in comparison with symmetrically filtered and unfiltered CS-RZ signals.
