Chirp Measurement of Electro-Optic Modulators Using Simple Optical Spectrum Analysis

Abstract

A novel method to measure chirp parameters of electro-optic modulators using optical spectrum analysis is demonstrated. Both the chirp parameter and high-frequency half-wave voltage can be readily obtained from the variation of optical spectrum as the bias voltage varies.
