Abstract

We demonstrate 100 GHz-spaced 40 × 43 Gb/s WDM transmission over 2540km of SMF fibre in a terrestrial configuration, with combined Erbium and Raman amplification and a standard NRZ format. All channels perform better than the enhanced FEC limit.
