Abstract

Several schemes for suppressing intra-channel non-linearities by introducing phase shifts between pulses are compared. Simulations and experiments show that sinusoidal phase modulation at 10 GHz provides a simple and effective means for improving the nonlinear tolerance in 40 Gbit/s transmission.
