Abstract

An all-optical switching for scalable and reliable optical networks has been intensively studied.1 A micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) is a promising technique for realizing highly scaleable all-optical switching fabrics for an optical networking equipment (ONE) such as an optical cross connect (OXC), and much effort has been made for the MEMS-based optical switches.2,3
