Abstract

The optical add/drop multiplexer (OADM) is considered a key component in the implementation of wavelength-division multiplexing systems (WDM). Several types of OADMs based on different configurations have been demonstrated,1–2 most of them include Bragg gratings because of their optimum spectral characteristics for WDM.
