Abstract
The convergence of internet and mobile access creates new demands on broadband wireless interconnections. Steered antennas in the base station (BS, Figure 1) are one important building block to connect selectively the addressed mobile terminal (MT) and to minimize the emission of radiation into the environment—an essential safety aspect for the user. Second advantage of the demonstrator is the cost effective generation of microwave signals (e.g., for the 60 GHz band) in the control station (CS).
