Tutorial: Holey fibers: fundamentals and applications

Abstract

The wavelength-scale features in holey fibres lead to novel properties including endlessly single-mode guidance and anomalous dispersion well below 1.3 microns. Fundamentals and recent progress will be reviewed, ranging from fabrication and modelling to devices and applications.
