Dispersion monitoring and compensation using a single in-band subcarrier tone

Abstract

We demonstrate a simple technique for dispersion monitoring by adding a single in-band tone to the data. Our technique has high accuracy and an easily reconfigurable measurement range. Dispersion compensation is also demonstrated using the monitor’s output.
