Novel S-band amplification and wavelength conversion technique using dual nonlinear phenomena

Abstract

We demonstrate a new S-band nonlinear amplifier, with over 18dB gain, and S-band wavelength converter, with over 20nm bandwidth, obtained by combination of Raman gain and optical parametric amplification.
