Abstract

High-speed broadband telecommunication system with Tb/s capacity will be required to accommodate the increase in traffic predicted. An all-optical transparent layer, in which variable bit rate data can flow, will need a bit rate insensitive all-optical clock recovery device. Several optical techniques for clock recovery have been proposed, among which self-pulsation DFB laser is one of the promising candidates.
