Abstract

Increasing capacity demand in all parts of the network as well as increasing ratio of IP to POTS traffic calls for new approaches of networking. This paper introduces concepts for using WDM as a means for providing dynamic connectivity in an IP backbone, and describes a joint Telia/Ericsson network field trial.
