Abstract

Combining leading-edge fiber optic technology with today’s shrinking defense budgets requires innovative solutions incorporating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology. Successful mil/aero programs include AWACS, In-Flight Entertainment (IFE), shipboard and Fiber Optic Towed Decoys (FOTD). Applications and “lessons learned” will be discussed.
