Abstract

Recently, a large number of high capacity WDM transmission experiments over transoceanic distances have been successfully demonstrated 1−3. In such systems, precise gain equalization technology is essential to ensure the required bandwidth without significant CNR degradation even after hundreds of concatenated repeaters.
