Abstract

The technology of widely tunable lasers has advanced considerably the last few years. An important driving force is the advantages that can be achieved in WDM systems by these lasers. As an alternative to fixed wavelength lasers, wavelength agile transmitters would give cost- effectiveness in back up and inventory control.
