Abstract

The demand for bandwidth in the premises is rapidly increasing, fueled by video and graphic rich applications. Several competing technologies are under consideration: unshielded twisted pair (UTP) copper wire, coaxial cable, wireless links, single and multi-mode glass optical fibers (GOF), and plastic optical fibers (POF).
