Performance of high-strength Cu-coated fibers at high temperatures

Abstract

Application of hermetic Cu coatings by the freezing technique yielded fibers with a reduced static fatigue (n > 100), an ultrahigh bending strength (up to 10 GPa), and a tensile strength of ~2 GPa.1
