Abstract
OFC'96 is the nineteenth in a series of meetings that began in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1975. The conference provides a technical forum for examining and debating emerging high-capacity transmission, distribution, and networking systems, and their enabling underlying technologies. These include fiber, cable, optical amplifiers, lasers and detectors, transmitters/receivers, and integrated opto-electronic components.
