Abstract

Photosensitivity1 is used to fabricate and demonstrate a broadband wavelength-selective tap based on an all-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer with two identical chirped Bragg gratings in the interferometer arms. The fiber tap has applications in wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) networks for extracting a band of adjacent wavelengths or acting as a broadband blocking filter.
