Abstract

Jim Barksdale, 52, is President and Chief Executive Officer at Netscape Communications Corporation in Mountain View, California. In these positions he oversees all aspects of the growing Internet software company, whose goal is to provide open software to enable people and companies to exchange information and conduct commerce over the Internet and other global networks. Barksdale joined Netscape Communications in January 1995. He has served on the board of the company since October 1994.
