Abstract

Polarization mode dispersion (PMD) is one of the troublesome issues for future global ultrahigh-speed optical networks.1 Various techniques for PMD measurement have been reported.2 However, the quantitative evaluation of PMD in the form of the transfer-function matrix has not been accomplished to date.
