Abstract

Fiber-based acousto-optic devices have been demonstrated in several configurations for their uses in switches, modulators, and frequency shifters,1 as well as in tunable filters.2 Here we report a highly efficient and polarization-insensitive all-fiber acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) with improved ruggedness3,4 that is based on the fiber-optic frequency shifter.1
