Abstract

We prepared Pr3+-doped InF3/GaF3-based fluoride glass single-mode fibers with the largest Δn (6.1 %) ever. Efficient amplification with a gain coefficient of 0.25 dB/mW at 1.31 μm was demonstrated by a forward pumping configuration.
