Abstract
Wideband microwave fiber-optic links require low noise figures and low gain ripple.1 This is achieved by high-power, low-relative-intensity-noise (RIN) lasers and low-ripple, broad-bandwidth modulators2 for the transmitters and low-noise, low-gain-ripple broad-bandwidth receivers. This paper describes the design and characterization of a high-performance receiver.
