Abstract

We present data on long (L=15mm) and highly reflective (98.5% for the H2 loaded fiber) Bragg gratings side written by a novel technique which consists of moving the ultra-violet beam along a phase mask in physical contact with the fibre. We investigate and modify the linear chirp of a grating with the use of a linear temperature gradient.
