Abstract

Since the end of the 1980’s, the technological world of cable- television (CATV) systems has been rapidly altered by fiber optics. The implementation of fiber is no longer a debatable issue for CATV operators; the industry clearly has embraced the technological advances in development of fiber optics and fiber components made during the last two years. At the same time, however, specific impacts and questions appear in relation to new fiber-related phenomena and some effects observed on fibered systems.
