Abstract

Reported switched FM video distribution systems generally employ multiple fibers to increase the feeder capacity and heterodyne techniques or analog switching2 to provide switched services. We report here a switched FM video distribution system with low-cost low- power digital CMOS ICs that provide switched services operating directly on the FM video. Eighty video channels feed the remote switch over a single fiber using microwave SCM techniques. As described, the switch module is easily expanded to provide large switch assemblies.
