Abstract

Optical signal processing is a major challenge for present research on optical data and network systems. Highly flexible switching elements for wavelength/frequency, time, and space are demanded for, e.g., all optical routing systems. Recently, we developed monolithic interferometric laser devices as key elements for broadband wavelength tuning.1 Use of this Y-coupled cavity interferometric laser (Y-Laser) for photonic switching was demonstrated in Ref. 2.
