Abstract

Optical frequency-division-multiplexing (FDM) systems have been widely studied recently to achieve large-capacity optical networks. This paper proposes a multifrequency-channel selector in FDM switching systems using a coherent optical transversal filter.1-3 The selector can choose several arbitrary frequency channels out of FDM input frequency channels because the coherent optical transversal filter can have arbitrary frequency characteristics.
