Abstract

Submillimeter optical reflectometers, such as optical time-domain reflectometers OTDR,1 and optical frequency-domain reflectometers OFDR, 2 have been used to evaluate optical components. In optical communication, one is often interested in the frequency domain, since future coherent optical communication systems will be frequency-division multiplexed.3 In such a system, amplitude and phase linearity are important as a function of optical frequency.
